Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who wants to reach beyond the average to achieve on time delivery and client satisfaction with branding programs and first-rate, CMS-integrated Web projects that are as elegant as they are functional. HTC team members wear many hats, so we’re looking for someone who can adapt quickly, bring new ideas and skills into the mix and has a never say die / lâche pas attitude.

Responsibilities
You will be in charge of project scope, budgets, timeline and team management. You will perform Quality Assurance (Testing) and write a broad range of documents (Briefs, Functional Requirements, Proposals, Web/print copy).

You have the voice of a strong leader, but the spirit of a great collaborator and the very mention of SEO, social media and interactive market research get you going for hours. Numbers speak to you, whether you’re preparing an estimate or researching strategic online initiatives. You have a knack for real business, and you can sell an idea internally and to clients.

You care as much about branding and strategy as you do about online usability, you think as much about where technology is going as where it is now, and you strive to make a difference with every project. Nothing escapes you, as you’ve got a wicked case of project-management induced ADD (Attention-to-Detail-Disorder) and you’re a really good writer to boot.

Your working environment and coworkers matter to you, and you enjoy sharing your ideas and sense of humour with them as you embark on new adventures. You are careful with your time and can estimate the work involved on a task with accuracy, which you then complete with precision and pragmatism.

Job Qualifications

• Project and account management experience, highly organized and extremely detail-oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written skills in both English and French (fluently bilingual).
• Good marketing and business sense, with a solid instinct for Web usability.
• Adept at multi-tasking across a diversity of tasks.
• Passionate about small business (we're not empire builders; we're into great work and satisfied clients).
• Familiarity with web technology (browsers, servers, databases, programming).
• Familiarity with Content Management System (CMS) Integration.
• Experience delivering projects within time requirements while adhering to established quality and documentation standards.
• Thorough understanding of how to plan and present.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Web design/development or branding firm.
• A wizard with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• IE6 isn’t dead yet: a general understanding of cross-platform, cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Great attitude, positive outlook and dynamic presence.

PHP Developer

Job Description

The application developer will be creating and documenting complex web-based applications in PHP and MySQL following established standards and methodologies, primarily in a Linux environment. The developer will also be responsible for fully documenting her work both in the code (following phpDoc format) and, where necessary, in technical and user documentation manuals.

Job Qualifications

Need-to-have Qualifications:

• Experience in assessing functional project requirements and translating them into technical development projects which you can then code.
• Must be comfortable hand-coding PHP, SQL queries, Javascript, HTML and CSS. Experience with PEAR and phpDoc a bonus.
• Must be strong at writing and optimizing MySQL queries, as well as designing and optimizing MySQL database schemas. Experience with other RDBMS a definite bonus.
• Experience developing PHP sites running under Apache for Linux is a must. We run Mac, Linux and Windows.
• Experience with Bugzilla, Trac, CVS and/or Subversion
  

• Experience installing and maintaining Linux-based web and database servers
• At least two years' experience developing object-oriented, database-driven PHP web applications in a corporate environment.
• Capable of developing PHP-driven web sites that work well with Internet Explorer (PC), Firefox/Mozilla (Mac, PC), and Safari Mac. Must have a general understanding of cross-platform, cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Experience with search engine optimization is an asset.
• Dedication to delivering projects within time requirements while adhering to established quality and documentation standards.
• Excellent English and French verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to change quickly and with ease.
